Lisa and her family have been members of BJ since 1999. She has served on the Hebrew School Advisory Committee, was a member of the Marriage Equality Hevra, and worked with the Economic Justice Hevra on the Justice for Farmworkers Campaign for six years. Currently, Lisa is the co-chair of the Economic Justice Hevra, serves on the Panim Leadership Team, the Community Engagement Committee and the D.E.I. Committee. Lisa has over thirty years of legal experience working on various civil rights and civil liberties issues. She has litigated reproductive rights cases as a staff attorney at the ACLU, served as legal director of the ACLU of NJ, and taught at Rutgers and New York Law Schools. She is also a member of the Advocacy Council of the Citizens Committee for Children. Presently, Lisa works at the New York Civil Liberties Union where she specializes in workers rights policy and legislation. Lisa is a graduate of the University of Illinois and the University of Michigan Law School. Lisa and her husband Dan live on the Upper West Side with their two dogs Sid and Ginny. Their three children Sophie, Ben, and Clara grew up at BJ attending Hebrew school and working as ozrim. All are truly grateful to be members of this special community.
