  • March 20 @ 10:30 am - 11:45 am

  • Remote Access Only

What is the connection between Judaism and environmentalism? How can we embrace the Jewish tradition in the 21st century? How is it all connected to the Shemitah year in Israel today? Join us for an illuminating conversation with one of Israel’s leading environmental thinkers.

Einat Kramer is the Founding Director of Teva Ivri, an NGO promoting Jewish environmental responsibility in Israel in an positive pluralistic way, and the establisher of the Israeli Shmita Initiative, which brings people together around social-environmental values related to the Shmita year. She has spearheaded a variety of initiatives, including a well-received position paper on Jewish-Israeli approaches to sustainable economy for the Rio +20 Summit, and an online learning center connecting Judaism & environment. Einat is also a PhD student, researching the unique worldview of Jewish stewardship worldviews in Israel. She lives in Mazkeret Batya, with her husband and four kids.
