Kulanu (Formerly Junior Congregation)
Shabbat morning services for 3rd-6th graders (and their families!)
Kulanu is a welcoming, engaging, and educational service for 3rd-6th graders and their families. Formerly called Junior Congregation, Kulanu is led by BJ’s spiritual leaders and accompanied by our Kulanu Band, which includes several of our youth musicians. Students in third through sixth grade are invited to help lead the prayers, and families are encouraged to ask questions and to participate in discussions about Shabbat, prayer, and the weekly Torah reading.
Kulanu meets every week in the 86th Street Social Hall between September and May. On the 1st, 3rd and 4th shabbatot of every month, Kulanu is open to 3rd-6th graders and their whole families. Kulanu Kids takes place on the 2nd shabbat of every month, which is prayer space open only to students in 3rd-6th grades.
Kick off Kulanu each week at 10:20AM in the main service at 86th Street, as we take part in the Torah service. We’ll then dance together to the 86th Street Social Hall to celebrate Shabbat together, Kulanu Style.
