Shira Averbuch

Biography

Shira Averbuch was born in Rochester, NY, but split her time growing up between Washington D.C and Israel. Shira served for two years as performer in the IDF band performing for soldiers and families living in war zones. Shira is an Actors’ Equity Actor and Off Broadway performer. She released her debut album produced by longtime Blondie music director, Paul Carbonara. She graduated with honors from both the American Musical and Dramatic Academy and The New School with a BFA in Musical Theatre and a certificate in Music Therapy. In Music Therapy Shira worked at The Louis Armstrong Center for Music and Medicine at Beth Israel Hospital. She led both private and group music therapy sessions throughout the hospital focusing mainly on Pediatrics; brining the gift of music to patients and their loved ones. Shira is very grateful to be part of the BJ family and to utilize the power of music as a means of communication, healing, and joy! Shira is a leader/musician for Bim Bam on Fridays.
