NYC’s Immigration Crisis with SPSA

Between mid-September and mid-October this year, more than 20,000 asylum seekers arrived in NYC. BJ and the Church of Saint Paul and Saint Andrew (SPSA) have worked together with other organizations to provide food, clothing, furniture, Metrocards, and more. But what more needs to be done? Beyond advocating for individuals, what policies need to change here in NYC and federally?

Join in person or on YouTube to learn how we got to our current USA immigration policies and law, and what needs to change. Steve Saccho, an immigration lawyer who has worked with the New Sanctuary Movement, will describe the challenges our newly arrived brothers and sisters are facing. Steve brings enormous professional experience and political wisdom to his immigration work.  Following his presentation and an opportunity to ask him questions, we will hear about opportunities for each of us to respond to this immigration crisis.

Registration is not required to attend.
