Conversation with Alliance of Families for Justice

Venue:
Rabbi Rachel Cowan Chapel

Join in a post-Kiddush conversation on Shabbat Vayeshev (about the imprisonment of Joseph) with members of the Alliance of Families for Justice (AFJ) to learn about the reality and impact of mass incarceration. Over the past several years, the BJ-SPSA Racial Justice Task Force has developed a relationship with AFJ. Some members of BJ and SPSA have had the opportunity to hear about and participate in AFJ’s efforts to organize and empower incarcerated people and their loved ones. This is a unique opportunity for more members of our congregations to meet with directly impacted family members, to hear their powerful stories, and to learn about ongoing opportunities for further engagement.
