Aviv Pop Music Class – Taylor Swift Edition

Casual fans and pop music mavens alike will enjoy this evening of exploring Taylor Swift’s songwriting. Mason and Evan of Gagged Productions will dive into the evolution of Taylor Swift’s sound across her various “eras.” Then we’ll spend some time analyzing the sonic landscape of her most recent release, Midnights. We’ll get a behind the scenes look at Jack Antonoff’s audio production tricks and conclude by applying some of those techniques to create a Taylor-style song using audience suggestions. No musical knowledge necessary to participate!

This is an Aviv-only event, which is BJ’s cohort for folks in their 20s, 30s, and 40s.

About Gagged Productions:

Gagged Productions is composed of Bronx-based producers Mason Taub (she/her) and Evan Zwisler (he/him). A native New Yorker, Mason grew up writing pop songs in her bedroom while attending LaGuardia H.S. for the Performing Arts. Evan spent his teenage years in the Shanghai underground punk scene before moving to New York in 2012. Together they harnessed their creative forces as indie pop duo The Values to make “dance music about your feelings.” After marrying in 2019, Mason and Evan studied music production at Berklee and continued on to launch Gagged Productions in 2021, which focuses largely on supporting queer artists in New York and beyond.
