Aviv Hot Cocoa Bar & Bites

Three words for you: Hot. Cocoa. Bar.

Join fellow 20s and 30s for an evening of Jewish mythology with a side of marshmallows. We’ll start with sweet treats then dig into some Jewish learning with speaker and podcaster, Zev Hurwich.

About the class:

“Og the O.G.”: Exploring Jewish Mythology with Zev Hurwich

Before there were dybbuks or golems there were primordial monsters: Nephilim, Gibborim, Rephaim, and Anakim, which are all categorized as “Giants.” But that one English word doesn’t really capture what these creatures were. To do that we have to go back in time through Jewish history, way back to our Ugaritic roots, to explore angels, demons, leviathans, death gods, and a whole hidden Pantheon of Jewish mythological figures to find out why these mysterious figures are at the nexus of our mythology.
