Podcasts, Popcorn, and Prosecco

Wednesday, June 19 | 7:00-8:30PM | Reception Room
Are you into podcasts and looking for a place to talk about them? Join BJ’s 20s and 30s group, Aviv, for a series of guided discussions, each centered around a different podcast! Just like a book club, we will all listen to a set podcast episode before each meeting, where we will come together for a guided discussion.

Come to as many or as few sessions as you’d like—first-time podcast listeners are welcome.
There is no charge for this event, but sign-up is required so we can make sure we we don’t run out of popcorn and prosecco!

June 19: What’s Going on in Gaza with Rabbinic Fellow Abi Weber

It seems that every day, headlines about Gaza fill the Middle East section of the newspaper. What is going on in Gaza and how did it come to be this way? Unsettled, a podcast produced by Jewish Israelis and Americans in collaboration with Palestinians, is in the midst of running a series on the history and current events of this complicated region. We will discuss the first two episodes of the series over popcorn and delicious drinks, delving into the challenging multiple narratives that describe Gaza today.

Sessions:
  • March 13: Everyday Ethics with Rabbi Adina Lewittes
  • April 10: Women’s Issues with Ellen Landsberger and Abigail Moore
  • May 1: Antisemitism with Rabbi Shuli Passow
  • June 19: What’s Going on in Gaza with Rabbinic Fellow Abi Weber
