Lost and Found: A Guide to High Holy Days Services with Rabbi Adina Lewittes
Thursday, September 6 | 7:00 PM | BJ Middle Room
The Jewish Home Project presents a pre-High Holy Days workshop for multi-faith/multi-heritage families (but ALL families are welcome)!
Lost your place in the Mahzor, the High Holy Day prayer book? Counting how many pages are left until services are over? Wondering how prayers crafted so long ago could possibly speak to our current spiritual and social realities? Whether it’s ever possible to wipe the slate clean and really begin again? Why anyone who didn’t have to be in shul would actually want to be and even get something meaningful out of it?
Come explore a liturgical navigation system so you’ll be able to find your way around the Mahzor over Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, and find yourself, too, in its themes of remembrance, forgiveness, and renewal. No Hebrew or prior prayer experience necessary. Although walk ins are welcome, we encourage you to register.
