Israeli Culture Salon Series part 3: Israel’s 70th – A Retrospective Through Art and Song

For our third and final Israel Culture Salon in this series, join guitarist Nadav Lev, choreographer Dana Katz, and film editor Shira Arad as they present their works and reflect on Israeli culture 70 years after the establishment of the State.

Guitarist Nadav Lev  is the only guitarist to recently win the America-Israel Cultural Foundation prestigious Abroad Studies award. He has also been awarded the Ra’anana Guitar Competition’s first prize, the Rodrigo Prize for the Jerusalem Guitar Competition, and the Artists International’s Special Presentation Award. Nadav will perform beloved Israeli tunes.
Choreographer Dana Katz is the founder and curator of the Out of Israel Project, which promotes diverse Israeli groups and creators in NYC. (Here is a write-up in the New York Times about the project, they perform annually at the 92Y)
Film editor Shira Arad is an Israeli Academy Award (Ophir) winner for the acclaimed film Our Father (Avinu), which Israeli life through a different lens, highlighting the kind of life struggles we don’t often see on the Israeli screen. Shira has edited numerous award-winning films, and will talk more broadly about trends in the film-making and storytelling scene in Israel.
