Sunday, April 30 | 3:00-4:30PM | 88th Street Sanctuary
Fifty years after the Six-Day War, 400,000 Israelis are settled on the West Bank. Many consider settlements an impediment to peace, while others consider it a fulfillment of the Zionist vision. Join Israeli Consul General and former Chairman of the Council of Jewish Communities in Judea and Samaria, Mr. Dani Dayan, for a special presentation on the impact of the settlements on Israel’s society and future. Register here for this event.
As of August 2016, Dani Dayan officially assumed the post of Consul General of Israel in New York. Ambassador Dayan has a long time reputation as an Israeli public figure, lecturer, and entrepreneur, enjoying wide support from all sides of the Israeli political spectrum. His nomination by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was publicly welcomed even by the Israeli opposition.
Dayan was Chairman of the Council of Jewish Communities in Judea and Samaria from July 2007 until January 2013. He was instrumental in pushing through multiple reforms and policy changes to strengthen the image of the organization and to advocate on behalf of its 400,000 citizens. Dayan then acted for two additional years as the Council’s Chief Foreign Envoy, during which time he made numerous advocacy trips worldwide and conducted regular meetings with Israeli-based foreign diplomats and journalists to explain the facts on the ground.
