Tikkun Leil ShavuotChildren's Shavuot Services
- Our celebration of Shavuot begins Tuesday
May 25 , with a service at 8:30PM, followed by a tikkun from 9:00PM to midnight. The learning, led by our rabbis, will be on "Kol Dodi Hine Ze Ba. Here Comes the Voice of My Beloved."
- At midnight we will walk together to the JCC (Amsterdam Ave. at 76th St), to join many of the other Upper West Side synagogues and the JCC as one community to celebrate Zman Matan Torateinu "the time of the giving of the Torah".
- The tradition of Tikkun Leil Shavuot, all night study is expanded in a program conceived by Israeli teacher Ruth Calderon. Choose from five simultaneous programs: film, music and dance performances, Bible, literature and philosophy workshops all under one roof, all night long. - At 5:00AM Wednesday,
May 26 we will return to 88th Street for a Torah scroll, siddurim and tallitot and proceed to a sunrise service at 5:30AM in Riverside Park (promenade at 90th St). Or you can join us at BJ for the morning service at 10:00AM. A picnic will follow at Riverside Park at the conclusion of morning services.
- There will be children's services on the first day of Shavuot, Wednesday,
May 26 , at 11:15AM in Frankel Hall, downstairs at BJ's synagogue on 88th Street.
- Children's services on the second day of Shavuot, Thursday
May 27 , will begin at 10:45AM in Frankel Hall.
