Renee Kaufman Lecture Series presents Daughters of Wisdom
Tuesday, May 20 | 7:00 PM | 88th Street Sanctuary
Daughters of Wisdom is a story of the Tibetan people, an experiential and transporting view of contemporary Tibet seen through the eyes of some of its most extraordinary women, the nuns of Kala Rongo Monastery of Nangchen, Kham. Daughters of Wisdom is an intimate portrait of these women and of their rare and exceptional spiritual community, one that couldn't have existed twenty years ago, but is thriving today. Some shy, some outspoken, all committed to the often difficult life they have chosen, the nuns graciously allow the camera into their vibrant spiritual community and offer us brief flashes of insight into their extraordinary lives. Screening will be followed by Q & A with producer/director Bari Pearlman.
