BJ Teens
Ozrim, Ozrim Tefilah and Ozrim Hagim
Teens in 8th through 12th grade may apply to be teachers' aides in the B'nai Jeshurun Hebrew School (Ozrim) and/or service leaders' aides at weekly Children's Shabbat morning services and Junior Congregation (Ozrim Tefilah), and/or work with younger children and their families as we celebrate the holidays over the course of the year (Ozrim Hagim). The Ozrim (literally, helpers) program provides teens with task supervision to develop their teaching and leading skills, and a monthly meeting with other teens in the program and the teen staff. Community in Action
Community in Action is a program for our 8th, 9th and 10th graders, based around exploring the concept of a Jewish community and its role in American society. The students will explore different models of Jewish communities and also learn new ways to be involved in our own congregation.Who: 18th-10th graders

Domestic Service Learning Program with Jewish FundS for Justice (JFSJ)
We are excited to continue our relief efforts in the Gulf Coast this year. This is an opportunity to participate in an incredible year's worth of learning about direct service and the role that they can play in repairing our world through an immersion experience somewhere in the country. This program will run on from 4:30-6:30PM on the second Sunday of every month beginning with an info session on October 14th and the direct service program will take place over Martin Luther King Jr WeekendWho: 8th and 9th graders

Lishma Teens
In Lishma BJ Teens have an opportunity to connect with each other and engage in a Jewish learning experience on a monthly basis in our Lishma program. Run in a seminar style, each class in a self-contained unit, allowing for attendance when schedules permit. Throughout the classes we will engage and interact with the "texts" of our Jewish and American traditions, drawing from ancient and modern sources to debate and discuss each topic.Who: All post b'nai mitzvah students

International Service Learning Program with American Jewish World Service (AJWS)
10th-12th graders have the opportunity to take part in our third year of a partnership with AJWS as we learn about our Jewish responsibility to be global citizens of the world and then venture out of the country to learn first hand how much work there is to be done. This program will run on from 6-8PM on the second Sunday of every month beginning with an info session on October 14th and the direct service program will take place over President's Day Weekend (dates and location to be confirmed).Who: 10th-12th graders
